Maeving's electric motorcycles are selling well enough overseas that the company now needs more production capacity back home in Coventry, UK.
The British brand is adding jobs and building more bikes to keep up with riders buying them across the US and Europe.

Overseas Demand Is Putting Pressure On The Factory

Maeving has secured a £3 million trade finance facility from HSBC UK, backed by UK Export Finance (UKEF), to increase production to meet growing demand in the USA, Germany and France. The company also plans to expand into further European markets.
We've already covered Maeving's wider funding package. This time, it's what the finance tells us about the company's growth.

Maeving has been exporting since 2023, with the US, Germany and France among its established overseas markets. As international demand grew, the company ran into a problem that will be familiar to any small manufacturer. The more bikes you sell, the more cash you need upfront to build them and fulfil the orders.
Co-founder and co-CEO Will Stirrup put it pretty plainly:
“But as a small business, we found the more we grew, the more cash w needed – which was holding us back.”

The UKEF-backed facility gives Maeving more working capital to build bikes and meet overseas orders. The expansion is happening in Coventry. Maeving plans to create 13 new jobs. And the company says more than 70% of the components used in its bikes are made in the UK. In other words, overseas demand is driving growth back home.
For American riders, that means Maeving can build on an established market. For European riders, Germany and France are already up and running, with more countries now in the company's sights.
The UKEF deal itself also has some history. Maeving and UKEF first met at an Innovate UK event in early 2025 before working with HSBC to agree the trade finance facility. It's another step in Maeving's push to grow the business beyond the UK.
The BCB Take

Maeving doesn't have a problem getting people to buy its bikes. It has a problem making enough of them quickly enough, without tying up all its cash in production. That's a good problem to have.
We've said it before, but Maeving is building bikes that actually make people want to ride motorcycles. When I spoke to the company at its London showroom during the Reload.Land silent ride, they backed that up with a telling figure: 55% of Maeving buyers are new to motorcycling.

That's a big deal. Maeving isn't simply fighting other electric motorcycles for existing riders. It's getting people onto two wheels who might not otherwise have made the jump.
For a British electric motorcycle company, having the factory in Coventry busy because riders in America and Europe want its bikes is a pretty good place to be.
Now let's see how far it can take it.
Ride safe, folks.
