FTN Motion Streetdog XR Electric Motorcycle
FTN Motion Streetdog XR

The FTN Streetdog XR takes the company's compact electric motorcycle and gives it a tougher, more capable edge. With raised suspension, increased ground clearance, higher handlebars and a more powerful 7.5 kW peak motor, the XR is designed to go beyond the usual urban commute.

Built to order in New Zealand, the Streetdog XR combines an 88 kg kerb weight with a removable 2.9 kWh battery, 30 litres of integrated storage and a claimed real-world range of 60–80 km. It's still a simple twist-and-go machine, but with an 85 km/h top speed and motorcycle licensing required, the XR sits firmly in motorcycle territory.

The BCB Take

FTN Motion Streetdog XR Electric Motorcycle
FTN Motion Streetdog XR

The Streetdog XR takes the simple electric commuter formula of the Streetdog 50 and gives it a bit more attitude. At 85 km/h, 7.5 kW peak power and 60–80 km of real-world range, it's got enough performance to escape the city rather than simply crawl around it.

The XR also keeps the Streetdog's clever bits, including a removable battery, 30 litres of hidden storage, and a proper motorcycle licence requirement. At 88 kg ready to ride, it's still seriously light for a motorcycle, and that's probably where much of the fun lives.

Ride safe, folks.
