Can-Am Pulse Electric Motorcycle
Can-Am Pulse

The Can-Am Pulse is the road-going counterpart to the Origin, taking the same basic electric platform and putting it into a much more street-focused package. Instead of long-travel suspension and off-road hardware, the Pulse gets 17-inch wheels, road tyres and a lower riding position.

It still uses Can-Am's Rotax E-Power system, with the same 35 kW peak output and 8.9 kWh battery as the Origin. The result is a lighter, sharper machine aimed squarely at riders who want the instant response of an electric motorcycle without going down the adventure-bike route.

The BCB Take

Can-Am Pulse Electric Motorcycle
Can-Am Pulse

The Pulse takes the same electric heart as the Origin and points it firmly at the road. The 17-inch wheels, 140 mm of suspension travel and 177 kg kerb weight make it a very different proposition, with the lower, more compact package better suited to everyday road riding.

The headline figures are solid too: 35 kW, a 129 km/h top speed and 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The claimed range stretches to 160 km in the city, although that falls to 89 km at a sustained 80 km/h. With adjustable regenerative braking, five riding modes and a 6.6 kW onboard charger, the Pulse looks like a pretty well-rounded electric roadster.

Ride safe, folks.
