Can-Am Origin: Full Spec Sheet

The Can-Am Origin is Can-Am's electric take on the dual-sport motorcycle, built to handle the daily commute and head off the tarmac when the road runs out.
It uses the Rotax E-Power platform and a long-travel chassis, with the hardware clearly designed to give the Origin genuine off-road ability rather than simply the appearance of an adventure bike.

The BCB Take

The Origin is much more convincing as an electric adventure bike when you look beyond the styling. With 255 mm of suspension travel at both ends, 274 mm of ground clearance, 21/18-inch wheels and proper off-road riding modes, Can-Am has given it the hardware to deal with considerably more than a gravel track.
The 8.9 kWh battery gives the Origin up to 145 km of claimed city range, but that drops to 84 km when riding at a sustained 80 km/h. That's the number worth keeping in mind if your adventures involve plenty of faster road work. Still, with 35 kW on tap, 4.3-second 0–100 km/h acceleration and a 187 kg kerb weight, the Origin has a pretty serious dual-sport package underneath it.
Ride safe, folks.
