Zero Motorcycles is giving its electric scooter range a serious upgrade with the arrival of the LS3.

Unveiled at EICMA 2026, the new LS3 brings 74mph performance, up to 93 miles of claimed range and a healthy dose of technology. It's a significant step beyond the LS1, and suggests Zero sees plenty of room for electric scooters that can do more than simply get you across town.

More Performance, More Range

Three onboard batteries provide a combined capacity of 5.6kWh, powering an electric motor producing 12.7kW (17hp) of peak power.

Top speed is 120km/h (74mph), with a sustained speed of 102km/h (63mph). Zero claims up to 150km (93 miles) of range, putting the LS3 well beyond the usual run-to-the-shops territory.

As with the LS1, one of the three batteries sits beneath the seat and can be removed to free up extra storage space. Riders can carry all three for maximum range, or remove one when there's more need for luggage space.

Built for Everyday Riding

Heated grips and a heated seat should make colder-weather riding a little more bearable. A standard top box and mid-height windscreen add some useful touring practicality, with a taller screen available as an option.

There's plenty of useful kit, too. Two USB-C charging ports, an improved luggage hook and an enhanced ABS module are all included. Hill Hold should make getting away on inclines easier, while an integrated front and rear camera system lets riders record their journeys.

Connected Technology and a New Zero App

Cellular connectivity links the LS3 to Zero's new motorcycle app, bringing some useful features along for the ride.

Planned features include custom ride modes, allowing riders to adjust power, torque, speed and regenerative braking. The app will also let riders find charging stations, review ride history, customise dashboard displays and manage charging settings.

The new app is also planned for Zero's 2027 Street and Dual Sport motorcycles, along with Project Ventura.

The Zero LS3 is expected to arrive in spring 2027, priced at £5,190. It's designed for riders holding an eligible A1 licence and above, subject to local licensing requirements.

The BCB Take

The LS3 might not be the headline-grabbing motorcycle announcement at EICMA, but it could be one of the more relevant ones for everyday riders.

At £5,190 (€6,870 in Europe), the LS3 looks like a decent proposition. We'll need to see what that 93-mile range looks like in the real world, particularly at higher speeds. We're also keen to find out whether a US launch is on the cards. But on paper, there's enough here to make us want to spend some time in the saddle.

Ride safe, folks.
