Honda’s UC3 Is The Electric Super Cub Honda Hasn’t Built Yet

Honda has finally made an electric commuter that looks less like an experiment and more like something you could actually live with every day.

The UC3 is a 110cc-equivalent electric scooter for Thailand and Vietnam, with 6 kW of peak power, an 80 km/h top speed and a claimed 122 km WMTC range.

Honda Goes Back To Basics

The Super Cub became a Honda icon by doing something pretty simple: giving ordinary people a practical bike they could ride every day.

The UC3 takes that same basic idea and swaps the petrol engine for electric power. It gets a fixed 51.2V LFP battery instead of Honda's removable Mobile Power Pack system used on some of its other electric two-wheelers. Honda says it's the first Honda electric two-wheeler to use a fixed LFP battery.

That battery gives the UC3 its claimed 122 km range, while the 6 kW wheel-side motor is good for an 80 km/h top speed. There's also 26 litres of under-seat storage, a 779 mm seat height, reverse assist, three riding modes and Honda's HSTC traction control. Kerb weight is 129 kg.

Charging is where things get interesting. Honda has developed a two-wheeler version of CHAdeMO for the UC3. With the 1,200W charger, Honda says a 20–80% charge takes around two hours. Honda is also building out charging infrastructure around the UC3, with stations being added at dealerships and other locations across Thailand and Vietnam.

Production started in Thailand in December 2025, with Honda expected to begin building the UC3 in Vietnam in Q4 2026.

The BCB Take

Honda hasn't tried to make the UC3 a 200 km/h electric superbike or some futuristic spaceship. It's built a commuter. That sounds boring. But honestly, it isn't.

The Super Cub's genius was making a motorcycle that fitted into normal life. Honda has already shown us the Cub e: concept, but the UC3 feels like a much more practical step toward putting that idea into everyday use.

It's not an electric Super Cub. But philosophically, it's probably the closest Honda has come yet.

Fixed battery. Decent range. 80 km/h. Storage. Manageable weight. And, importantly, charging infrastructure being built around it.

That's a much more important test for electric motorcycles than another headline-grabbing power figure.

Ride safe, folks.
