Easy-Watts: The Bikes Are Only Half the Story
France has plenty of electric two-wheelers, but Easy-Watts is quietly putting together a motorcycle range worth paying attention to.
The Breton company has been around since 2018, and its current line-up covers everything from small road scooters and vintage machines, to 120 km/h cruisers and off-road track bikes.
Looking Beyond The Badge
Easy-Watts was founded in the Côtes-d’Armor and now operates from several French locations. The company says it has around 40 employees spread across its headquarters in Brittany and showrooms in Rennes and Paris, backed by a network of more than 200 sales and service partners across France. It also has a permanent team in Asia overseeing quality control at its manufacturing partners.
That alone makes Easy-Watts a slightly different proposition from many of the electric motorcycle brands appearing across Europe.
Let's face it, getting a motorcycle into your garage is one thing. Getting it serviced, repaired or figuring out what that weird noise is six months down the lane could be another. We're guessing that's where those 200 sales and service partners come in. And a French stock of spare parts that can be dispatched within 48–72 working hours.
Customer feedback is generally positive, sitting at around four stars from more than 800 verified customer reviews. There's plenty of praise for the bikes, service and availability of parts. There are also some complaints about slow responses and delays, so the 200-plus service network isn't a guarantee for everyone.
If you do decide to buy one, the range comes with a two-year warranty covering parts, labour and battery. But to be honest, it's the bikes that brought us here.
Currently available are 16 electric scooters, from low-powered 50cc-equivalent step-throughs to higher-speed models, including racing-inspired designs and urban ADV-style machines. Alongside those are five electric motorcycles covering dirt-bike and cruiser styling. That's a lot of electric two-wheelers under one roof.
Let's zoom in a little on the BW8 and BW11 Heritage. Both take the cruiser formula and give it a substantial 8.42 kWh battery. The BW8 makes 8 kW nominal and 15 kW peak, while the BW11 steps that up to 11 kW nominal and 18 kW peak. Both are capable of 120 km/h, with Easy-Watts claiming up to 200 km of range for the BW8 and 180 km for the BW11.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. If a proven design can be brought to market with good specs, proper support, parts availability and a price that fits, the badge on the tank becomes only part of the equation.
Outside of France you can still order an Easy-Watts, with the company offering international delivery by quotation. You'll obviously want to check that the bike you're looking at meets local regulations, but for riders elsewhere in Europe and the UK, that's a yes. You won't, however, have the same level of access to Easy-Watts' sales and service network that French buyers do.
The BCB TAKE
We don't expect every motorcycle company to design and build every bike from scratch, in-house and on home turf. Some buy in frames, some buy batteries, some bring in outside manufacturing or design expertise, and plenty sit somewhere in between. Where you draw the line is up to you. If the end result works for the people riding the bikes, it works for us.
If Easy-Watts can manufacture internationally, spec the bikes properly, control the quality and then back them with a service network and parts sitting locally, that's a model that makes sense.
We'd still want to ride them before passing final judgement. But looking across the range, there are several Easy-Watts motorcycles we'd happily put some seat time on.
