The latest instalment in the Donut saga is here, and this one builds on the VTT programme we’ve been tracking from the start. Up to now, the focus has been on charging speed, thermal behaviour and real-world pack performance. This latest test shifts the spotlight onto safety, specifically, how the cell behaves after it’s already been damaged.

Donut’s stepped out of the lab. After a run of cell-level tests with VTT, the latest video finally shows what everyone’s been waiting for, the battery in an actual bike. A Verge TS Pro test mule, plugged into a public fast charger, running Donut’s solid-state pack in the real world. No lab coats this time. Just a bike, a cable, and a stopwatch.

Donut has dropped the third video in its “I Donut Believe” validation series, and this time we've moved on from charging speed or temperature tolerance. It’s now self-discharge under the microscope.

Donut has dropped the next instalment in its battery independent validation series, this time focusing on high-temperature performance, another pressure point for electric motorcycles pushed hard in real-world conditions.

Donut has released the first independent test results video from its solid-state validation program — and they’ve gone straight for one of the biggest pressure points in electric motorcycles: rapid charging.

Since their announcement of the Donut Battery, Donut Lab has taken a proper kicking. Scroll their socials — or ours — and you’ll see it: seasoned riders, early adopters, engineers, even OEM suits openly questioning whether this so-called solid-state breakthrough is the real deal or just another PowerPoint prototype. Today (20/02/26), Donut fired back.

Lightning just dropped something big — and it’s not a new bike. The California outfit has launched EDGE, a modular 800V electric architecture spun out of its race program, and it’s offering the platform to manufacturers across multiple sectors. Translation: Lightning wants to supply the guts behind future machines — including electric motorcycles — rather than just building its own.

The elusive crew at Lightning Motorcycles have announced their latest upgrade for the 2026 machines — and this one leans hard into rider control rather than headline power numbers. Lightning is rolling out factory-programmed Custom Throttle Mapping, giving owners the ability to define exactly how throttle input translates into motor response.

At CES 2026, Ultraviolette — the Indian outfit behind the F77 and X47 — rolled out “Violette”, an onboard AI voice assistant designed to make riding safer, simpler, and a whole lot more integrated. Anyone who’s ridden with a Bluetooth lid knows the upside: no phone bolted to the bars, no eyes dropping to a screen, no fumbling at lights. Ultraviolette’s new Violette system aims to push that idea further by baking voice control directly into the bike itself.
