Yadea Keeps Showing Off its Autopilot. But Can You Actually Buy It?

Yadea keeps showing off an electric motorcycle that can ride itself. The videos look like something from the future, but there's one pretty important question. Can you actually buy one?

The Autopilot Is Real

Yadea has been showing off its self-driving electric bike for a while now, and this isn't some internet mock-up.

The company showed the prototype at Brazil's Festival Interlagos in 2025, where it demonstrated a bike that could balance itself without a rider and follow a programmed route with nobody on board. Yadea also said it could carry objects and people.

Yadea later highlighted the autonomous bike as one of its technology developments in 2025, so this isn't a one-time stunt that disappeared after the cameras stopped rolling.

But there's still a pretty big gap between showing us a motorcycle that can ride itself and actually putting one on sale. And when we started digging into what Yadea means by “autopilot”, things got a little more complicated.

Yadea does actually sell a bike with something called “piloto automático”. The GFX6 is a real production model, and Yadea's Brazilian specification lists "piloto automático" alongside traction control, hill descent control and one-touch reverse.

But don't get too excited. On the GFX6, “piloto automático” means cruise control. It holds the bike at a set speed. It doesn't balance itself, steer itself or follow you home while you sit on the couch.

Yadea's Mexican GFX6 page makes that pretty clear, describing the feature as cruise control that locks the current speed to reduce rider fatigue.

So there are currently two very different things hiding behind some very similar language. One is a motorcycle that can genuinely move around without a rider. The other is a production scooter you can buy with cruise control.

The BCB Take

We're all for Yadea figuring out how to make a two-wheeler ride itself. Watching a motorcycle balance, turn and follow a route with nobody sitting on it is pretty cool. But now we want to know when we can actually buy one.

Forget the futuristic stuff for a minute. Imagine you've gone all out on the Halloween shopping, bought enough decorations to turn the place into a full-on haunted house, and can just send the bike home while you grab a coffee.

We're joking. Mostly. Yadea has already shown us the bike can do it. Now we want to know when it's coming.

Ride safe, folks.
