Yadea Keeness Doubles Down on Range With 7.8 kWh Battery
100 km/h electric bikes have one problem that keeps coming up. How far can you actually ride before you're hunting for a plug?
Yadea has an answer. The Keeness Long-Range Edition packs an upgraded 72V 109Ah lithium battery and claims up to 170 km (105 miles) of range under WMTC testing. Let's take a look at what has actually changed.

More Battery, Same Bike
The standard Keeness uses two removable 72V 32Ah batteries, giving it a combined 4.6 kWh of capacity. Yadea currently quotes up to 129 km (80 miles) under EEC testing.
The Long-Range version is a very different proposition on the battery front. That 72V 109Ah pack works out at roughly 7.8 kWh. Yadea says it can deliver up to 170 km (105 miles) under WMTC. That's a decent jump in battery capacity for a bike that still has a 100 km/h (62 mph) top speed and an 11 kW peak mid-drive motor.
The rest of the Keeness formula stays untouched. There is a 770 mm seat, 17-inch wheels, inverted front suspension, 16 litres of storage and cruise control.
But there’s a catch for anyone already reaching for their wallet. Yadea unveiled the Long-Range Edition at EICMA in November 2025, but there’s still no confirmed price or launch date for this version.
The standard Keeness is currently listed at around €5,800–€7,000 in the European markets where it’s sold, and £5,900 in the UK. That’s for the 4.6 kWh model, though, not this bigger-battery bike.
Yadea has also shown the standard Keeness as a US-market bike before, but we can’t currently find one listed for sale in the US. The bike is available in Pakistan, and Yadea’s Western Canadian distributor lists it as coming soon, with Canadian approval still pending. Yadea also lists India among its markets.
There’s no sign of the Long-Range version being available in any of those markets yet. So for now, the 170 km-rated Keeness is a bike we can talk about, rather than one you can simply walk into a dealer and buy.
The BCB Take
Range figures always need a bit of side-eye. WMTC isn't the same as riding at 100 km/h into a headwind with cold tyres and a throttle hand that doesn't believe in economy.
Nearly 8 kWh changes the conversation, but let's not pretend it suddenly solves long-distance electric riding. There are already bikes sitting around the same mark. The Velca Vortex has an 8.2 kWh battery, while the Evoke M1X gets 8.4 kWh. LiveWire's S2 bikes go further again with 10.5 kWh, while the Energica Experia is in another league entirely with up to 22.5 kWh.
So the Keeness isn't breaking new ground with battery capacity. What makes it worth watching is what Yadea has done with that capacity in a relatively compact, 100 km/h, affordable motorcycle.
For riders who want to use the Keeness for more than short urban hops, having that extra energy onboard means less planning around the next charging stop. That's particularly useful when you leave the city and the charging network gets thinner.
The catch is weight, price and charging time. Yadea hasn't given us enough detail yet to know how the Long-Range version deals with those trade-offs, and I want those answers before calling it a genuine road-trip bike.
Still, this is more than a token range upgrade. Yadea has taken a relatively compact electric motorcycle and given it a battery big enough to make longer rides look considerably less stressful. Now we just need to know what it weighs, what it costs and when we can actually buy one.
