If you've spotted Tacita in our newsletter or caught wind of them through your e-moto circles, you’re probably curious, maybe even excited, about the promise of a durable, long-range roadster and a hardcore off-road warrior.
Let’s dig into what this Italian electric motorcycle maker is really bringing to the table.
Company Background: Italian Craftsmanship
Tacita was founded in June 2009 in Turin, Italy, by former rally-raid rider Pierpaolo Rigo and his partner Dinamaria Ollino, with a clear vision: to build the perfect electric racing motorcycle. Their first prototype took to the sands in November 2012, when Tacita entered the Merzouga Rally in Morocco, marking the debut of an electric motorcycle in an international cross-country rally. The model used was the T-Race Rally, the brand’s trailblazing off-road electric machine.
Battery Technology: The Heart of Tacita’s Electric Soul

Tacita’s electric motorcycles are powered by lithium‑polymer (Li‑Po) battery packs, chosen for their high energy density and durability. The T‑Cruise Turismo models offer battery capacities of up to 27 kWh, delivering a range of up to 322 km, according to Tacita’s internal TRM (Tacita Range Method) testing. Meanwhile, the T‑Race line-up, including the Enduro, Motard, and Motorally variants, features battery options ranging from 9 kWh to 13 kWh, striking a balance between weight and range for optimal off-road performance.
Charging times depend on the model and battery size. For example, the T‑Cruise can reach 80% charge in approximately 40 minutes using a fast charger. Across the range, Tacita’s battery systems are engineered for efficiency and longevity, supporting both spirited riding and extended touring with confidence.
Design & Craftsmanship: The True Italian Signature

Proudly built in Italy at their factory near Turin, where about 80% of the parts are made right on site, Tacita mixes modern manufacturing with skilled craftsmanship, using lightweight composite fairings made from a clever blend of carbon fibre and ballistic Kevlar. Plus, if you want to make your bike truly yours, Tacita offers plenty of customisation options, from colours to Kevlar finishes, so you get a bike that’s as stylish as it is functional. It’s all part of their promise to deliver quality and innovation with a genuine Italian touch.

In the UK, Tacita has a growing dealer network offering test rides and servicing. Tacita launched a North American branch (Tacita USA) with Miami offices in 2019, but currently, there's no word from Tacita about Australia or India having a permanent place on the roadmap.
What’s Next for Tacita?

The company has competed in the Merzouga Rally and entered the Mission 1000 category at Dakar in 2024 and continues to fine-tune its off-road line-up based on real-world motorsport experience. Tacita USA was established several years ago, laying the groundwork for future North American availability. There are rumours that the brand plans to enter the Australian market in 2026, but for now, that’s just speculation and hasn’t been officially confirmed.
