Can an American-built electric scooter make riders look beyond short city commutes? HMP thinks so. Its new Flash combines motorcycle-rivalling performance, optional dual batteries and an affordable price tag in a bid to prove electric scooters can be more than just urban runabouts.

The HMP Flash combines a removable battery system with the option of running one or two battery packs. With up to 15 kW of peak power and a GPS-tested top speed of 120.7 km/h, the dual-battery configuration offers considerably more performance than the single-battery setup.
