Zero Lompico: A Different Kind of Zero

There was a time when Zero practically defined the modern electric motorcycle sector. But the market it helped create is changing fast.
Lightweight urban rides, high-speed race weapons, electric dirt bikes, retro commuters and software-heavy machines are all carving out their own corners of the market. The Lompico is Zero recognising the game is changing.
Inside The Zero Lompico

Lompico isn’t a production bike yet, but it’s a pretty clear statement about where Zero thinks electric motorcycles are heading. On paper, the numbers aren’t locked in either, but the company is targeting an 8.8kWh battery alongside roughly 40 hp (about 30 kW). That's enough for an urban machine that's built more around attitude than top speed.

Underneath it all sits Cypher 4, Zero’s latest software platform handling everything from ride modes and performance tuning to diagnostics and phone connectivity. Love it or hate it, software is becoming a huge part of modern motorcycling, especially in the e-moto world, and Zero clearly wants the Lompico to feel as connected as it does aggressive.
Visually, the Lompico is a shift. Things could still evolve before any production version appears, but from what we saw at EICMA and in the glossy promo shots on Zero’s website, the sharp bodywork, exposed structure and compact stance give it far more street attitude than the safer, more corporate-looking machines Zero has leaned on in recent years.
The BCB Take

The electric motorcycle market isn’t about proving EVs can be fast anymore. That debate’s already been settled. What matters now is how these bikes fit into real riding, and that means software, urban usability, and machines with genuine street presence.
That’s where the Lompico gets interesting. Brands like Maeving, Stark Future, LiveWire, Ultraviolette, and a growing wave of Chinese manufacturers haven’t just pushed things forward, they’ve shifted what riders expect from a “normal” electric motorbike.
Zero Motorcycles may not define the entire e-moto conversation like it once did. But with bikes like the XE, XB and now the Lompico, it’s clear the company knows the conversation is moving fast.
Ride safe, folks.
