The Sur-Ron Ultra Bee made a big splash when it launched in late 2022. Filling the gap between the lightweight Light Bee X and the full-sized Storm Bee, it offered a good blend of agility, power, and affordability for trail-hungry riders who wanted good electric dirt performance without the bulk and heavy duty pricing.

Fast forward to 2025, and Sur-Ron has upped the ante with the new Ultra Bee HP—a high-performance variant that looks almost the same but rides like a new beast.
If you’ve been tearing up backwoods trails or city edges on your 2023/2024 Ultra Bee, the changes might not jump out at first glance. But once you twist the throttle in Turbo mode, you’ll know exactly what this update is about: torque, control, and high-end feel without high-end pricing.
The Ultra Bee’s Evolution

The original landed in 2022 as a “Goldilocks” bike—12.5 kW of peak power, lightweight frame, 55 Ah battery, and a 19-inch front and rear setup. It felt like a scaled-up Light Bee with real adult suspension and real-world range, and for many, it became the electric off-road platform to modify and race.
Now in 2025, the Ultra Bee HP builds on that winning formula with subtle but important improvements—think 18 kW of power, a beefier 60 Ah battery, and a ride quality that’s more planted and more adjustable right out of the box. SurRon didn’t reinvent the bike—they just added all the mods you were probably planning to do anyway.

Ride Feel and Real-World Use

Where the 2024 Ultra Bee felt fun and flickable, the HP version feels tighter and tougher. It soaks up high-speed hits better and feels more grounded when hammering through loose terrain. The added stiffness up front (SurRon says 50% more rigidity) is noticeable when pushing hard, but it doesn’t beat you up on casual rides. The new Crawl mode is a sleeper feature too—great for precision riding through technical sections or around urban obstacles. Or hey, if you do have to push the bike anywhere, the back of your truck or onto the podium, it's also going to come in handy.

Turbo mode is a welcome treat. It’s limited to short bursts (presumably to preserve thermal stability), but when activated, you get a surge of acceleration that makes hill climbs or wheelies much more effortless. Just hold on tight—it’s more aggressive than most stock e-motos in this weight class.
Charging's been streamlined too. A full top-up from 20% to 80% takes about 2.5 hours, and the new belt system (carbon-reinforced with tungsten carbide coating) offers three times the durability of the old setup. If you've broken a belt on a 2023/24 model, you'll appreciate that one.
Bottom Line
The 2025 Ultra Bee HP is not just a minor update—it’s SurRon listening to its rider base and delivering a more capable, refined, and aggressive machine without stepping into Storm Bee territory. If you’re already riding a 2024 Ultra Bee and love it, you may not need to upgrade—but if you crave more power, better suspension, and top-tier features stock, the HP is absolutely worth it.
At $6,499 - £12,053 - €14,080, it’s still a solid value for a mid-size performance e-moto that comes race-ready straight from the crate.
Ride safe, folks.
