Ultraviolette’s Tesseract: Step-Through Form, Motorcycle Mindset

In its latest video drop, Bengaluru firm Ultraviolette Automotive is lifting the lid on what sits beneath the bodywork of its halo scooter, the Tesseract.
The Tesseract has been in the spotlight for a while, but this latest update shifts attention away from styling and safety tech and straight onto the hardware. A 100V system supporting a claimed 15kW peak output, alongside renewed "most advanced electric scooter in the world" messaging, all point in the same direction: a machine that may wear scooter bodywork, but appears to have been built with a motorcycle mindset.
Voltage, Intent, and Category Pressure

At the centre of the conversation is the Tesseract's 100V architecture. In EVs, voltage isn't just a spec-sheet number. It influences how power is delivered, how heat is managed, and how long a machine can keep pulling before performance starts to fade. Viewed through that lens, the 15kW figure feels like part of a package built to deliver consistent performance.
The "most advanced electric scooter in the world" claim follows a similar line of thinking. Ultraviolette isn't positioning the Tesseract as just another commuter. It's aiming much higher. Whether it lives up to that ambition in real-world riding remains to be seen, but this is clearly more than a routine update.
That doesn't mean Ultraviolette is ignoring the segment altogether. The latest video also leans into direct comparisons, lining the Tesseract up against established step-throughs in a drag race. The message is clear: it may look like a scooter, but Ultraviolette wants it judged against the best in the class.

The BCB Take

Ultraviolette, best known for its F77 platform, and X47 crossover, has built a reputation for doing things differently. The Tesseract suggests that approach isn't changing just because it's entering the scooter market. That's a brave move in a segment where affordability often matters more than outright performance.
The 100V system tells its own story. Ultraviolette isn't approaching the Tesseract like a typical commuter scooter. It's bringing the same kind of thinking that's shaped its motorcycles and applying it to a step-through.

But riders don't buy voltage figures, they buy machines. If the Tesseract delivers on its promise, it won't just raise the bar for electric scooters, it could change what riders expect from one. If it doesn't, it'll be another reminder that impressive specs don't always translate into a better ride.
Either way, it's almost here, and the real question now is whether all that motorcycle thinking holds up once riders start putting miles on it.
Ride safe, folks.
