Zero Rolls Out Home Delivery for X Line Off-Road Bikes

Updated: Mar 22

Zero Motorcycles is rolling out a direct-to-home delivery option for its lightweight X Line electric dirt bikes, allowing riders to have their machines shipped straight to their door while still purchasing through a dealer.

The new program applies to Zero’s XB and XE electric off-road bikes. It’s a shift in logistics rather than a full direct-to-consumer play. Dealers still handle the sale and customer relationship, but the delivery chain is streamlined, that means getting one on your driveway is a whole lot easier.

A Different Way to Get a Dirt Bike

In the off-road world, picking up a bike at the dealership has always been part of the process. But electric brands have been experimenting with new sales models for years, and Zero’s latest move looks like another step toward, simplifying how smaller electric bikes reach riders.

Under the new system, dealers can sell in-crate versions of the XB and XE, which are then shipped directly to the buyer’s address. It's USA first, then a progressive rollout across Europe and the UK.

For riders who don’t live close to a dealership, or who simply want to skip the pickup trip, that could make things significantly easier. It also reflects the kind of distribution model that works well with lighter, simpler off-road machines.

The X Line Platform

Zero introduced the X Line as part of its broader push to expand into lighter and more accessible electric motorcycles. The range currently includes two bikes aimed squarely at the dirt and trail crowd.

The XB is the more approachable entry point in the line-up. 7.5kW (10hp) peak power, 275 lb-ft rear wheel torque, and a 2.4 kWh swappable battery. Designed as a lightweight all-terrain machine that can also be ridden on the road in some regions.

The XE, meanwhile, steps things up with more power and performance. 15.5 kW (20.1 hp) motor, 4.3 kWh swappable battery, and a top speed of 53 mph. Targeting riders who want a more serious off-road experience while still keeping the lightweight feel of the platform.

The XB and XE are currently available in the United States and across Europe through Zero’s existing dealer network, with the UK included. Additional markets are expected as distribution steps up.

The BCB Take

In the electric motorcycle space, new sales models are becoming almost as common as new drivetrains, and the new testbed for distribution cost saving.

The X Line bikes are smaller, lighter, and easier to manage than full-size electric street machines. That makes them a natural fit for crate delivery and home assembly, much like how some e-bikes and small powersports machines are sold. It also lowers the dealership reach barrier that electric brands face.

If the system works, it could give Zero a wider footprint without needing to expand its dealer network at the same pace.

For riders, the idea is simple. Order the bike, wait for the crate to show up, bolt it together, and go find some dirt. Not a bad way to start a weekend.

Ride safe, folks.
