DAB 1 Goes Mainstream: Sub-€10K Access Finally Here

DAB Motors, backed by Peugeot Motocycles, have just opened up their once limited-run DAB 1α to the wider global market — and you can get your hands on one from today.
The DAB 1 is available at €9,990 outright, or from €199 per month with no down payment. For a machine that began life as the limited-edition DAB 1α — a design-led, small-batch statement — that sub-€10k price point shifts the conversation.
What's key here is this isn’t a clearance exercise or a watered-down variant. It’s DAB refining the formula and putting it within reach of bikers and buyers.
What’s On Offer: The DAB 1

Two years on from the 1α, the DAB 1 keeps the same monolithic silhouette but strips away some of the theatrics. The exposed carbon and Alcantara details are gone, replaced with cleaner execution and sharper production consistency. Less showroom flex, more everyday intent.
DAB has had Peugeot Motocycles in its corner for a while, and the DAB 1 shows it. Industrial backing, consistent build quality, small-batch mindset — no dilution. “Meaning over Mass” still stands.
It’s still an L3e-A1 homologated machine, so 125cc licence holders are good to go. Selectable seat height (840–880 mm), proper two-seat setup, supermoto-style bar layout, and a compact 2010 mm overall length give it real-world usability instead of concept-bike awkwardness.

Charging is realistic: 20–100% in around three hours, 50–100% in 90 minutes. Belt final drive keeps maintenance low, with regenerative braking built in. Urban range is up to 150 km, 120 km mixed — numbers riders can actually use.
DAB is also pushing hard on customisation. The new configurator allows thousands of combinations — colours, finishes, seats, hardware. No two bikes need to leave the workshop identical. For riders tired of cookie-cutter electrics, that’s a serious pull.
It’s Europe-only for now, and to sweeten the launch, the first 50 European customers get free delivery. USA riders, don’t panic — Simon Dabadie, CEO of DAB, told us the US is firmly in their sights, with shipments expected later this year.

The BCB Take

Let’s be clear — this isn’t a budget commuter. €9,990 still sits in premium territory. But it's accessible, and compared to the 1α’s limited-run perception, the DAB 1 is confidently stepping into the real market.
At 145 kg with 31 hp and an impressive stance, the DAB 1 isn’t pretending to be something it’s not. Lightweight, design-forward, and capable of handling ring roads, it puts its torque figure to proper use — electric where it counts.
More importantly, the sub-€10k (£8,721) ($11,799.97US) pricing changes the conversation. DAB has taken a bike that felt niche and made it attainable without gutting the spec sheet. No gimmicks. No watered-down badge engineering. Just a sharper, more accessible version of a machine that already had major street cred.
Orders are live. Don’t wait — get on it here.
Ride safe, folks.
