Street Classic: RGNTs Next Step in Retro E-Moto Cool

If you like your e-motos hand-built, dripping with vintage charm, and unapologetically boutique, Swedish manufacturer RGNT has been flying that flag since the first batch of No.1 bikes rolled out in 2020. Now they’re levelling up with their latest model — the Street Classic.

It carries the same retro-modern ethos as its sister, the Turbo, but moves slightly away from 'scrambler' and towards a 'street' setup with refreshed specs and more refined design cues that feel even closer to its old-school inspirations.

So what’s new? What’s improved? And does the Street Classic bring enough to keep RGNT’s loyal fan base — and the wider e-moto crowd — excited?

Who is RGNT?

RGNT Street Classic
RGNT Electric Motorcycles

They aren't your typical e-moto brand chasing volume, venture capital, or headline-grabbing performance numbers. They’re a boutique Swedish manufacturer with a very specific obsession: building electric motorcycles that look like they rolled straight out of the 1970s.

The company started gaining real attention with the RGNT No.1 and, more recently, the Turbo — both hand-assembled machines built in small batches, with a strong nod to classic European commuter bikes. Think chrome accents, round headlights, upright bars, and a silhouette your granddad would recognise.

RGNT’s identity sits squarely in the boutique niche. These aren’t cheap commuter tools or mass-market runabouts; they’re crafted machines for riders who want character, charm, and craftsmanship in an electric package. The brand leans heavily on Scandinavian principles of clean lines, functional simplicity, and quality over quantity. They're even building race pedigree with their RGNT Turbo Championship.

What’s New on the Street Classic — and Where It Shines

If the RGNT No.1 was the brand’s statement of intent, and the Turbo was the upgraded offering, then the Street Classic is that same message delivered with clearer handwriting. The overall silhouette — upright stance, tank line, minimalist tail, and unmistakable retro profile — remains unchanged. RGNT knows this look is its calling card, and they’ve wisely kept it intact. What has changed sits under the skin.

The Street Classic gets a refreshed battery setup, higher top speed, more range, improved braking, and a touch more connectivity in the display — a welcome upgrade for riders who felt the Turbo needed just a bit more to handle daily commutes or longer weekend ride-outs.

Another noticeable step forward is the livery and options list. The Street Classic arrives with cleaner paint schemes and a little more personality baked into the vintage aesthetic. Buyers also get more choice: multiple battery configurations plus practical add-ons like a luggage rack, heated grips, a windscreen, and USB-C charging.

Interestingly, the Street Classic lands slightly cheaper than the Turbo—a sign that RGNT is streamlining production and finding its stride in the e-moto sector. It’s the kind of move that lets boutique brands stay competitive. And the optional larger battery is an upgrade most riders will appreciate.

Both models still use the same 45 kW hub motor delivering a hefty 540 Nm of peak torque and 3.9 seconds to 100km/h. That’s not commuter-class behaviour — that’s more than enough shove for city slicing and the “let me just overtake this entire line of traffic” moment. RGNT claim the Street Classic and Turbo sit among the fastest accelerating A1-legal motorcycles available.

Where It Falls Short

RGNT Street Classic

It’s hard to spot any real downsides. The Street Classic isn’t aiming to be your next MotoE replica, and RGNT seems to have addressed the Turbo’s main shortcomings. They’ve even shaved a bit off the price. But for riders looking to split the difference, this is for you...

Range is always a question. RGNT quotes impressive "real world" numbers, but we don’t know at what speed those figures were achieved. The bigger, 10 kWh battery is welcome, but as always, real-world range may sit lower than the brochure promises — a key factor if you're heading out for a weekend escape.

Charging is still a bit slow - 2 hrs to 80% with a 1.8 kWh charger. It does beg the question why we aren't seeing higher power on-boards more frequently adopted in the sector. It feels like it's not a big problem to solve with European sockets handling 3 kW with ease.

Some might also argue that the hub motor adds un-sprung weight and less economy.

None of these are deal-breakers if your priority is character and craftsmanship, but riders chasing aggressive performance might find it a little too polished and understated for their taste.

Our Take

RGNT Street Classic

This is a bike for riders who care about character, style, and craftsmanship. The upgraded battery means it’s more than capable of city commuting and weekend escapes. The higher top speed lets you comfortably join highway traffic and make a quick exit when you need to get out of Dodge.

Maintenance stays simple thanks to the hub motor, while the clean retro lines and updated livery keep timeless appeal that most café-hoppers can only dream of. Extras like USB-C charging, heated grips, and luggage options make it practical without diluting its character.

Its only Europe for now and you can book your build on their website. Deliveries expected to start March 2026.

In short, the Street Classic is about delivering a stylish, capable, and thoughtfully engineered e-moto that’s more than just a nod to the past. For the rider who wants personality and handcrafted urban versatility rolled into one, this bike hits the sweet spot.

Ride safe, folks.
