Avenrà EVO Review: Power and Safety in One Package?

Updated: May 9

When Avenrà dropped off their EVO for testing, they had a lot to live up to. On paper, the spec sheet reads like someone ticked every option in the configurator. A full suite of rider tech, app connectivity, safety systems, and, thanks to the Hypercore1200 Track Pack they’d fitted to our test mule, a claimed 50kW going straight to the back wheel with a 0–60 time of 2.9 seconds.

That’s superbike territory from an A1 machine. Let’s get on it.

Avenrà EVO: Parked Up, Eyes On

In blue, the EVO stands out. It’s got presence without trying too hard. classic race lines, high gloss finishing, and enough aggression to let people know it’s not built for posing outside coffee shops.

As always with e-motos, the attention came thick and fast. We got stopped, waved at, and cornered several times during testing by riders and non-riders wanting to know. Electric motorcycles still pull curiosity like nothing else on the road, and the EVO definitely wears that spotlight well.

Out On The Tarmac

Put simply, the EVO is an easy bike to ride. Power delivery is basically effortless and predictable, which is a relief when you’re dealing with this much poke. Crack the throttle and it moves hard, but it doesn't try to buck you off the back.

In corners the chassis feels planted, giving you enough confidence to carry speed without the bike becoming nervous or twitchy. We also managed to spend some time working through slow manoeuvre drills. Low-speed control is smooth and deliberate, making filtering and tight riding less dramatic than you might expect. It won’t turn on a penny, but it’s not supposed to.

And yes, we had a crack at the 0–60 run in standard mode. Avenrà claims 3.9 seconds. We managed 4.5 (ish). On a less-than-perfect surface, with a crosswind doing its best to spoil the party. We’re calling that close enough for road testing.

Update: Since publication, our other test rider, Steve Chandler, got additional time on the EVO and recorded 839.5 amps at 83V. That's just over 69kW hitting the back wheel. And yes, he won't stop telling us about it.

What We Love

The EVO comes loaded with extras, and honestly, reading through the spec list had us wondering how much menu-diving we were going to have to deal with.

That’s usually the danger with tech-heavy bikes. Too much faffing around before you can just ride. But Avenrà takes a different approach.

All that tech stays completely invisible until you need it. Turn on the bike, twist the throttle, go ride. You don't need an IT qualification before leaving the car park. That’s exactly how rider tech should work.

The display comes with two settings. Motorcycle dashboard gives you speed, revs, battery SOC, trip, and ODO. Press the small button on the side and it switches straight over to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It's not touch screen, there's no menu. Just the vitals.

Device charging is also built into the dash, handy if you’re running your phone while riding.

What We Don’t

There’s not much to complain about. The bike handles well, feels stable at pace, and comfortable over longer rides. The only consistent criticism from our main test rider - who’s 5'11” - was that the foot peg position felt high for his preference. But the rest of the team jumped on without issue.

The indicator setup also split opinion slightly. Avenrà has gone with a slide switch that cancels via the centre position. Personally, we’ll always vote for a push-cancel setup. There’s just something reassuring about that positive click confirming you’re no longer looking like a learner. Still, the slide setup works fine, and after a handful of turns it becomes second nature anyway.

Optional extras include heated grips and a heated seat, both also controlled with push buttons on the handlebars. It’s a properly old-school way to approach it, but it works.

The BCB Take

The Avenrà EVO gets something important right. It delivers performance without making the rider work for it.

Speaking with Paul, Avenrà CEO, it’s clear that safety is a top priority for the team. The EVO already comes with anti-theft and rider protection systems, and they’ve got more tech in the pipeline. As long as the systems work and keep working quietly in the background, staying invisible until we need them, we’re all for it.

Fast bikes are easy to build. Fast bikes that feel safe and confidence-inspiring aren’t. The EVO manages both. Quick enough for the autobahn, but calm enough to learn how to get there.

Power and safety in one package, that's the promise. Now they need to prove it at scale.

Ride safe, folks.
