Under the Fairing: The DP-Pro Gets Serious

We recently reported on Dimentro's new play in the two-wheeled EV game as they introduced the Equator — a high-spec commuter step-through that features their cutting-edge CVT 4-in-1 drivetrain. But the story doesn’t stop there. At EICMA 2025, Dimentro pulled the wraps off the latest evolution of its already well-equipped roadster on the DP platform: the DP-Pro.

What's New?

Its predecessor, the DP-03, was already a solid piece of kit — we’ve got one sitting in our own bike shed. It’s been through a proper British baptism: salt, rain, cold, and plenty of miles. We ran it all winter, day in and day out as a commuter, and took it on weekend blasts just for the fun of it. The verdict? A tough, reliable electric bike that earns its keep.

The new DP-Pro builds on that foundation with meaningful upgrades — more top-end speed, noticeably improved range, and a completely new battery system that’s lighter, safer, and built for longer runs. It’s not a redesign for the sake of it; it’s refinement with purpose.

Form-wise, the DP-Pro looks much the same as the DP-03, but the real evolution happens under the fairing.

Battery Tech That Can Take a Hit

The DP-03 had a very intuitive, dual removable battery pack with built-in 12V and 5V sockets, making it handy for camping or low-level auxiliary uses. The DP-Pro drops those features and debuts Dimentro’s new semi-solid-state battery — a big leap in both safety and performance. The pack is no longer removable and uses slim, low-profile cells that can literally take a nail without reacting. In conversation with Dimentro’s top team, they told us you could hammer a spike straight through an individual cell and nothing would happen — apart from rendering that cell unusable.

That kind of resilience doesn’t just make shipping and handling safer — and therefore more affordable — it also builds confidence for riders who know that drops, crashes, or rough use come with the territory.

Thermal performance looks just as strong. In testing, Dimentro reported that even when running the pack hard in 35°C+ (95°F+) conditions, heat levels only rose about 25% — a solid result that points to better longevity and consistent performance under pressure. Translation: longer rides, less worry, and a pack that can take the hits as well as the tarmac.

Speed and Range

The DP-Pro’s motor is rated at 10.8 kW, with a peak output of 20 kW, giving it a new top speed of around 80 mph (130 km/h) — plenty for highway cruising, with enough punch to pull you clear when you need it.

Range comes in at a claimed 155 miles (250 km) at 50 mph (80 km/h) in 25°C (77°F) conditions. Dimentro’s team says those figures are conservative — during in-house testing they reportedly hit the 250 km mark with about 10% capacity still in the tank.

The bike’s also packing some useful tech: a 7-inch TFT display, NFC start, optional app connectivity, GPS, phone charging, plus ABS and traction control as standard. It’s a solid, real-world feature list — nothing gimmicky, just gear that makes daily use smoother. Although to be honest, I still prefer a key start on all things two-wheeled. But then again, I was born in the ’80s.

Waiting for the Real-World Test

We haven’t had the chance to throw a leg over this new version yet — but we’re waiting patiently. The range and speed numbers sounded convincing when we spoke to the Dimentro crew, and they aren’t a far reach from the current DP-03, but we’ll hold off calling them gospel until we’ve seen the results first-hand.

Our DP-03 has been a rock-solid machine — not a single major issue in months of riding, apart from a minor battery hiccup that Dimentro has since patched with an update. If that reliability carries over to the DP Pro, we’re looking at a serious contender in the mid-range electric roadster market.

With pricing expected between €7–9K, it’s a attainable option for riders seeking a dependable, highway-capable electric cruiser.

As soon as we get our hands on one, we’ll give it the full Buck City Biker rider review treatment — no press gloss, just what it’s really like to live with.

Ride safe, folks
