Maeving doesn’t do loud. They do classy. And with their newly unveiled RM1S Blackout, the British e-moto brand has created what may be their most visually arresting ride yet.

If you already know the RM1S—a bike that blends electric performance with vintage charm—you’ll recognise the silhouette. But the Blackout edition brings an entirely new energy: limited, lethal, and laser-focused.
This is not a mainstream commuter. It’s a bike for those who ride a little differently—and prefer to make a statement without making a sound.
Limited to 100: Exclusivity in Every Curve
It's good news and bad I'm afraid. The bad news: Only 100 of these will be made, which means getting your hands on one might be tough. The Good News: It should be a darn sight easier than the RGNT Crooked Vanguard. Each Blackout is part of a limited production run, and it shows in the details. Maeving has reworked its award-winning RM1S with an all-black finish that’s more than just a paint job. The tank, now reimagined in matte black, carries a graphite coachline that nods to the brand’s iconic ‘Vincent’ design. Meanwhile, what seems to be powder-coated housings, gunmetal accents, and matte carbon infills with a subtle silver tint complete the look.
Style Meets Substance

Despite the aesthetic overhaul, the RM1S Blackout hasn’t sacrificed performance and remains built on the concept of easy recharging. Under the stealthy skin, it retains the powerful specs of the standard RM1S:
Motor: 7.2kW continuous (11.1kW peak), hub-mounted
Top Speed: 70mph (112 km/h)
Torque: 261 Nm
Battery: Dual removable 2.73kWh packs (5.46kWh total)
Range: Up to 80 miles under ideal conditions
Charging: 2.75 hours from 20–80% via a standard plug
It’s the same commuter wrapped in a midnight tuxedo.
What’s Unique to the Blackout

Maeving didn’t stop at the tank and mudguards. The Blackout comes standard with a range of premium features:
Matt black tank with graphite coachline
Matt carbon fibre mudguards and infills with silver tint
K-Tech Razor “Lite” rear shocks, offering improved ride comfort
Black battery housing and black embossed seat for a seamless look
Optional Slate Grey Roll-Top Pannier with 14L storage and a laptop sleeve
This bike is clearly aimed at riders who care about detail—those who value craftsmanship as much as cutting-edge tech.
Built for the Rider
The RM1S Blackout offers a refined alternative to the generic city commuter. It’s light (just 133kg), agile, and whisper-quiet, yet capable of keeping pace on faster roads. And with removable batteries, it's tailor-made for apartment dwellers or anyone without a dedicated EV charger.
Priced at £8,995 (around $11,200 USD / €10,400 / ₹940,000 / AUD $17,000), it's affordable but not cheap—but that’s the point. It’s an intentional, collectible machine. And with only 100 units being produced, it’s a statement that won't be duplicated.
Availability

Right now, Maeving’s Blackout is up for grabs in the UK and the USA. British riders can order direct, while U.S. customers can reserve theirs with a refundable $250 and expect delivery in select states within weeks—others will need to hang tight until summer.
As for Europe, Maeving's making some rumblings about expansion, so it’s worth keeping an eye on that horizon.
Australia? Still radio silence. And India—while there’s no official channel yet, the RM1S is built to European standards, so it's road-legal under Indian regs. Translation: if you can import one, you can ride one.
Final Thoughts: Less Flash, More Presence

In a market where many electric motorcycles scream for attention, the RM1S Blackout does the opposite. It whispers. It blends in until it doesn't. It’s the kind of bike that gets noticed not because it’s loud, but because it’s precise.
With performance you can count on, a design that turns heads without shouting, and exclusivity baked into every panel, the RM1S Blackout is a sharp reminder that sometimes, black isn't just beautiful—it’s elegance on two wheels.
Just don’t wait too long—these shadows are selling fast.
Ride safe, folks.
