So here’s the word on the street: LiveWire dropped a trademark filing named S4 Honcho — covering “motorcycles and structural parts.” That’s it. That’s all we officially know.

Yes, it sounds badass. “Honcho” evokes power, command, leadership. (It sounds like hanchō in Japanese, meaning leader or chief). But this isn’t a patent; it’s a trademark. LiveWire’s staking a claim on the name, not dropping new tech — at least not yet. Until there’s hard data, until we see battery specs, torque numbers, pricing, weight, range, even a drawing — we’re just chasing dreams. LiveWire could be looking to position this as their new heavyweight flagship, but a name registration doesn’t make a legend.
What Folks are Speculating (i.e. rumour mill in overdrive)
Based on LiveWire’s current line-up and what competitors are doing, the guesses are flying:
More power — way more than the LiveWire One’s ~78 kW (~106 hp)
A bigger battery — current One offers ~15.5 kWh, so expect rumours of 20–25 kWh or more
Range claims — everyone wants that 250–300 km “real world” number
Faster charging — maybe 0–80 % in under 30 minutes?
A 2027 launch or later or teaser reveals that might come sooner
These are plausible, but they’re just guesses by industry pundits. Currently, nothing is confirmed.
Why We Should Pump the Brakes

We’ve seen hype before. Plenty of shiny e-motos have strutted onto the stage, only to flop when the rubber hits the road. But hold on - LiveWire isn’t just a start-up chasing sparks. They've got real heritage and come from heavyweight stock: Harley Davidson is the original American iron! That legacy cuts both ways and sets the bar sky-high. If the S4 Honcho really wants to wear the crown and compete with the likes of Energica, Zero’s DSR/X, Tacita's Turismo, or future legacy flagships, it needs to prove it’s more than a cool name.
So, trademark filings are really interesting — they hint at ambition and give us insight into future plans — but unfortunately, they don't guarantee substance. It's a bit like registering a web domain for that side project you dreamed up three years ago. Until LiveWire drops the deets, we’re left guessing.
Bottom Line

Don’t pop the champagne just yet — but maybe keep the glasses handy. The S4 Honcho could be a monster — just imagine a true electric Harley, built for the open road and those epic American highways. Or it could fizzle like many “next-gen” promises before it. The name is strong, the heritage is real, and the potential is definitely there. We’ll stay sharp, watch for leaks and teases, and when LiveWire shows something real, we’ll be here to break it down.
Ride safe, folks
