Electric Anarchy: Inside Droog and the Land District Collab

Updated: Sep 7

At first glance, you might think Mad Max just rolled into town—but don’t panic. The Droog X Land District is not the beginning of the end. It’s an A2 (17kw preak) electric motorcycle, forged from Land Energy's engineering muscle and Droog Moto’s post-apocalyptic design flair, slammed together on two wheels. No compromises. No confusion. Just a statement.

It’s a collaboration that says as much about the culture of e-moto as it does about speed or torque. Land provides a platform that can handle the demands of modern electric performance, while Droog injects a visual aggression that turns a functional machine into something almost cinematic. The result is a bike that announces itself before it even moves, a collab that exists as much in the imagination as it does on the asphalt.

Land Moto: The Engineered Backbone

The Original Land District

At the core is Land Moto’s—Land Energy's—District platform, a Cleveland-built electric motorcycle engineered for versatility and performance. Lightweight, modular, and made for flexibility, the District can be tuned for city streets or unleashed as a 70+ mph beast. It’s a machine that proves electric motorcycles don’t have to be one-trick bikes—they can be adaptable and powerful at the same time.

Base Specs – Land District

  • Ride Modes: 27 mph, 40 mph, 70 mph, Performance 70+ mph

  • Power: Nominal 11.5 kW (~15 hp), Peak 17 kW (~23 hp)

  • Torque: Instant electric punch, but officially unpublished

  • Range: Up to ~120 miles (193 km)

  • Charging: ~5.5 hours

  • Suspension: Adjustable rear shock

  • Dashboard: Smartphone app replaces traditional gauges

Land brings the hardware and brains. Its modular electronics, robust battery options, and agile chassis provide the perfect foundation for customisation, allowing designers like Droog to push the visual envelope without compromising ride quality.

Droog Moto: Architecting Visual Aggression on Two Wheels

Founded in 2016 by Max and Erica Droog, Droog Moto isn’t your run-of-the-mill custom shop—it's an industrial design insurgency on wheels. Operating largely online, this husband-and-wife team crafts machines built to be both sculpture and motorcycle in one. Each marked by raw, aggressive lines and brutality in form.

Design Philosophy: Not Like The Others

Droog Moto describes itself as more than a builder—it’s an experience:

“We’re disrupters... where others conform, we create... it's an extension of one’s personality.”

They deliver this through bespoke craftsmanship, blending CNC, 3D printing, and hauntingly sculpted metalwork. Every ride is a character unto itself—part functional street machine, part dystopian fantasy.

From stripped-down streetfighters to electric reconstituted beasts, Droog’s toolbox is all about uncompromising style. Their projects to date include:

  • Urban Fighter (Kawasaki Z1000): Minimalist, heavy, angular, with a flat-bed seat, exposed wiring, and aluminium wheel inserts that belie its flickability.

  • Silent Assassin E-Scrambler (Brammo Empulse R): Electrified and stealthy. Droog maintains its industrial silhouette with a faux tank, shortened subframe, and 17″ Marchesini wheels—sculpted aggression with electric underpinnings.

  • E-Fighter Series: Their fully electric custom builds come in multiple flavours, like the modular DM-016 with 46 hp and 78 ft-lb torque, complete with slashed LED mask lighting and two solid wheel options.

  • E-Fighter Ultraligero: A no-bull, ultra-light electric fighter powered by a Zero mid-drive motor, delivering 78 ft-lb of torque and ~50 hp. Built to order, it's a tailored electric weapon.

  • Volcon Brat Collaboration: Droog extended their aesthetic to the e-bike realm with this chunky mash-up. With a 3D-printed body kit, knobby 20" tires, suede seat, and Magura brakes, they turned an already-rad commuter into a post-apocalyptic messenger bike.

How It All Comes Together with Land

Droog x Land District
Droog x Land District

Droog’s role in the Droog X Land District wasn’t to re-engineer the motor or tinker with the drivetrain—it was to drop their signature design chaos onto Land’s elegant electric foundation. The aggressive subframe, moulded lighting, and custom details are pure Droog artistry layered over Land’s practical, modular engineering.

In that collision, you don’t get confusion—you get clarity: this bike is about power meeting design, technology fused with visual edge, and a joint effort that lets both creators shine.

Droog applied its personal philosophy to Land’s platform:

  • Shortened subframe and custom seat: A modified rear subframe and custom seat enhance manoeuvrability and provide a more aggressive stance.

  • Wide handlebars: The bike is equipped with wider handlebars, contributing to its distinctive appearance and improved control.

  • Oversized tyres: Featuring Droog's oversized tires on disc-style wheels, giving it a unique presence and allowing for off-road capabilities.

  • Brutal LED lighting: The bike incorporates a diagonal LED headlamp, a signature of Droog Moto, adding to its futuristic look.

  • Forged carbon fibre accents: Droog Moto has added forged carbon fibre accents to the bike, enhancing its bespoke appearance.

  • Minimalist dashboard: The traditional speedometer has been replaced with a smartphone holder that doubles as a dashboard, providing a clean and modern interface.

Why This Collaboration Matters

Droog x Land District Rear Tail
Droog x Land District Rear Tail

The Droog X Land District is a glimpse into what happens when engineering discipline collides with design anarchy. Land delivers the muscle; Droog delivers the menace. Together, they’ve created more than a motorcycle—they’ve delivered a message.

But this collab is just one chapter. Droog’s larger story is about dragging motorcycling into a future that looks raw, dangerous, and damn cool. In a world full of clean-lined EVs, Droog’s work is a reminder that electric doesn’t have to mean sterile. It can be savage. It can be art. It can be unapologetically Droog.

Ride safe, folks.
