Benzina Zero Drops the Turbina Bombshell

Benzina Zero, the Aussie outfit behind one of the most widely adopted electric utility bikes on the planet, has just pulled the wraps off its latest concept: Turbina. And it’s not another commuter.
This is a sleek, race-bred machine built around a dual front-wheel setup disguised as a single front end. The big question? Will it ever make it past the concept stage?
What’s Special About the Turbina?

Turbina is a full-on statement — a design swing that throws out the usual EV playbook and asks a simple question: what happens if we stop building sensible and start building radical?
This is a sharp departure from their usual Bosch-powered city machines and light e-mopeds designed to haul people and goods where 2 wheels make sense. Turbina is pure concept, developed with Aussie design house Grand Yarra to push both aesthetics and engineering — not to chase compliance paperwork.
Here’s what they’re putting forward:
Twin‑wheel illusion: Dual wheels front-and-rear are disguised by what looks like a single race‑style stance. On the surface it’s very clever and makes a serious visual statement — but the mechanics are still a mystery.
Potentially a split rim, with both tyres fixed together? Or tyres mounted independently, each able to tilt and flex for better grip and handling? Either way, the design hints at next‑level thinking, and we’ll be watching closely to see which path Benzina Zero takes.
Radical form factor: Sculptural bodywork and tight symmetry that feels closer to a gallery piece than a production mule.
Innovative architecture: Aggressive geometry and a low centre of gravity suggest there’s engineering substance behind the visuals — though we’ll need numbers to prove it.
Design credibility: Co-founder Joe D’Ercole led the project with a studio that’s worked in global automotive circles. So, this isn’t a back-of-napkin brainstorm from the marketing department.

What we don’t have: power figures, battery specs, range, weight, or performance targets. Turbina isn’t pitching numbers — it’s pitching potential. Of course, potential only goes so far.
When Does Production Look to Start?
Here’s the hard truth: there’s no confirmed production timeline for Turbina. Benzina Zero hasn’t said a word about tooling, homologation, or dealer allocation. Right now, Turbina is a vision piece — not something rolling toward a production line. Until we hear otherwise, this stays in the concept lane.
The BCB Take

Turbina is cool. No debate. Sharp lines, serious presence, and enough attitude to light up forums for weeks. But right now, it’s still concept metal — not something you can roll out of a dealership.
It’s a big swing away from Benzina Zero’s utility roots, and we respect that. The EV scene needs brands willing to push design instead of just tweaking battery specs.
Now the hard part: build it. Make it ride as hard as it looks. If Benzina Zero moves this from render to road, we’ll be watching.
Ride safe, folks.
